Five New Charges Added as Shebeshxt’s Case Postponed to November 2025

The legal troubles surrounding Limpopo musician Lehlogonolo “Shebeshxt” Chauke have deepened, with prosecutors adding five new charges to his ongoing criminal case. The Mankweng Magistrates Court postponed the matter to 27 November 2025, giving the defence more time to examine the expanded docket and prepare its response.

The newly added offences paint a far broader and more complicated picture of the allegations Shebeshxt is facing. They include charges of robbery with aggravating circumstances from an incident in Mankweng, attempted murder in Seshego, and three charges linked to separate events in Lebowakgomo: possession of a firearm, assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and negligent discharge of a firearm.

Each charge stems from different reported incidents, suggesting that law enforcement has been tracking the musician’s activities across multiple regions before consolidating the matters into one case. This strategic consolidation strengthens the state’s hand by presenting an overarching timeline of alleged violent conduct, rather than isolated events.

The postponement was granted after defence attorneys argued that the new charges significantly expand the scope of the case. Reviewing evidence tied to multiple locations, witness statements, forensic reports and ballistics findings could take months. The magistrate accepted that the defence requires adequate time to fully understand the state’s allegations before presenting a meaningful rebuttal.

For fans and critics alike, the situation continues to spark intense debate online. Some argue that Shebeshxt is being unfairly targeted due to his growing popularity and raw, unfiltered public persona. Others believe the new charges reflect a long-running pattern of reckless behaviour that has finally caught up with the musician.

The prosecution has remained tight-lipped about the details behind each incident, with investigators emphasizing that the charges are based on ongoing casework, witness testimonies and collected evidence. Whether the state will attempt to add even more charges in the coming months remains unclear.

What is clear, however, is that Shebeshxt’s legal road ahead is set to be long and unpredictable. With allegations spanning robbery, attempted murder and weapon-related offences, the stakes could not be higher.

The case will now remain inactive until 27 November 2025, when both sides are expected to return to court. By then, the defence is expected to have had enough time to unpack the state’s updated docket and determine its next move.

For now, the matter remains in limbo, with supporters waiting for clarity and the courts preparing for what is likely to become one of the most closely watched celebrity legal battles of 2025.
